The Shadow Flower is a strange entity of a demon that has plagued the females of the Medina family for several generations. It appears as a shadowy mark on the back, starting out small, but then it blooms into what looks to be a tainted flower. A Medina woman who has a strong will can manage, to some degree, control of this mark, and the demon will grant her improved agility, strength, and speed. It can even manifest in her shadow, protecting the Medina from external danger. But with this power, comes a price, and if the current hostess does not produce a girl child, the result is a slow and painful death into old age. The demonic mark will die along with its vessel, both dragged into the depths of darkness.

Marianna (or "Monts" as she seems to be referred by) is the current vessel of the Shadow Flower. Despite her inherited curse, Monts has a sunny disposition and outwardly doesn't show her uncertainty and fear of the Flower. Towards others she is charming, helpful, and overall she has a very casual attitude and approaches everything at her own pace. She's slow to anger and annoyance, but she rarely likes showing her true feelings about most things and can be elusive at best. Now that she's of adult age, her family is pressuring her into being setup with a suitable partner so she can bear a child before they lose the demon and her forever, but Monts seems to have her own thoughts about the whole situation...
